What a weekend to be had in Topeka. This was my 2nd fair ever and once again, the response I had was wonderful. It was great meeting all the new folks – I had some great comrades around me (props to the chili guy who was coincidentally across from me in Lawrence two weeks ago as well. He kept me fed.) Lots of tips from my next door neighbor who has been doing arts & craft fairs for years and years. She said the 80s were supreme. Time travel? Thanks to the cookie lady to for her generous donation of sugar to my much needed late afternoon near-shutdown. Next week: the Oktoberfest in my hometown.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like…

Cut Paper Art Print Holiday Tree Ornaments

Cut Paper Art Print Holiday Tree Ornaments

…that time of year! It’s been a busy week here, between recovering from last Sunday’s fair and ordering more supplies for the upcoming fair in Topeka, a birthday celebration, a bunch of new paper cuttings, and life.in.general. I’ve been thinking of some ideas for holiday tree ornaments and here is one that I came up with featuring my BiRD design. The squares are made out of pine and they are hung with black sheer organza ribbon. I’ve also got a couple other ornament designs up my sleeve and I’ll put them up here when I roll them out.

I’ve also got another goodie in the works. Part of it is on its way in the mail. The other part of it involves the purchase of the new Yudu Screen Printing Machine. I can not wait to try that out! I’ll show you what I’ve got when I’ve got it! All of these new things I’m making *should* be available at the Cider Days Festival on Sept. 26 & 27th in Topeka, KS. Please make it out if you can – proceeds from this festival benefit The American Lung Association of Kansas. Read more about it here.

Thanks to everybody that came out yesterday! The Lawrence Fall Arts & Crafts fair was a whole lotta fun, and now I am a whole lotta exhausted! But it was well worth it. That was my first art fair and I was really overwhelmed by the response that I got. It was great seeing all the folks that I knew and meeting all the folks that I met. Lawrence is a great community that really supports art in a big way and I’m looking forward to taking part in more of what they have to offer.
