“Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety, or possessions – we cannot be free.” -Thich Nhat Hanh
Check out what’s going on at Imagine Goods. They “partner with vulnerable and marginalized people around the world to make products that, in many cases, give them the first fair wages they’ve ever received.” (http://imaginegoods.com/) I’ve got a couple of designs, and more to come, screen printed on bags made from hand woven fabric from a cooperative in Cambodia. Happy Summer Solstice. Also, happy night of the 2013 Super Moon. The Vol II Issue II Lantern Journal, an art & literary journal, is out now and my artwork is on the cover. Check it out here: http://lanternjournal.org/
I just received word that there IS space for me at the downtown Des Moines Art Festival this yaer. This is one of the larger art fairs in the country.. and since I can’t be in two places at once, unfortunately, I’ll be giving up my spot at my other planned art fair that weekend (also in Des Moines) to head to this one for my first time ever there. Looking forward to it! Details to the right.

Many thanks to all you folks who came out in the rain to the Omaha Summer Arts Festival. Despite the less-than-desirable weather on Saturday and Sunday (it was pretty much a soaker except on Friday), I had a great show. It’s always fun to do a new show in a place I haven’t been before. The show staff and volunteers were so helpful, and all the spectators and customers so kind. And of course, one of the best parts about being a ‘traveling’ artist is meeting and hanging out with other artists traveling along a similar path — made some new friends, I did. Here’s some pics, including the neatest water tower I’ve ever seen (coming from a coffee lover) along I-29.
