Music: Davy Graham and Shirley Collins – Dearest Dear
Getting some music ready for many hours of car travel. Also check out the song “Hori Horo” that I posted last year from this same record. So good:https://ruralpearl.com/blog/?p=3283

Woooo hooooo I just got the new Beachwood Sparks LP in the mail (earlier than I expected) that I preordered from Sub Pop Records.. equipped with an awesome totebag and sticker which is now permanently affixed to my car. (If there’s one thing that I’m a stickler about, it’s keeping my car in ship-shape. I don’t even have my own sticker on there). So… my whole workday just went from totally exciting to beyond exciting. Lots of new finished works to come once I get them photographed.
I trotted (not literally – it was more of a shuffle) over to the Wal-Mart in Salina and this song was playing when I walked in.
RIP Doug Dillard

I’ve been listening to Holst since I was a kid. My mom, a classical musician, and her then-partner (RIP) who was a physicist & astronomer, put me onto to a few classical comps that merge into a scientific/ sci-fi realm that I still listen to. I picked up this record last week at Love Garden in Lawrence and chuckled at the sticker on the packaging. I was immediately sold.
I found a small strawberry patch growing under some overgrowth next to my garbage bin while I was mowing yesterday. I’ve had this song stuck in my head since…
