I’m zoning out on my 18th hour of work…. Many new things to come. I’ll be heading out to Des Moines on Friday for Artfest Midwest at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. A week from Saturday, I’ll be giving a presentation at the Topeka Public Library in conjunction with the “A Cut Above” exhibit that I’m in there.. More details to come.

It was inevitable that I’d someday name a paper cutting after the Ultimate Spinach song of the same title. Best band name ever, maybe? (Maybe not.. but I did make a pretty ultimate spinach salad for dinner). This measures 8 x 10 inches. I also made a much larger paper cutting similar to this that I’ll post pics of soon.

Paper Cutting Marathon in Progress

I feel like a zombie right now. It’s been non-stop paper cutting since about 2pm Monday afternoon with a few hours of sleep here and there. I’ve had to bandage three of my fingers already for various reasons. BUT, I’ve been having lots of fun making new things — I’m using a lot more color — experimenting with different blends and layers of color.. new forms & compositions, etc.. I just finished up what might be one of my favorite paper cuttings of all time (I’m pretty sure I say that every time I finish one.. but this one –not the one pictured– has the feel that I’ve been trying to get all along — picture coming soon). More to come…
