Today (Friday) I will be dropping off this work titled “Budding Moon” to the Lawrence Arts Center as my donation toward their 2013 Annual Art Auction, which is a great event that generates a large portion of funding for their education endeavors. The paper cutting is actually almost finished, just a bit more work to do on it this morning before I frame it up and roll it out.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I finished the cover art (excluding the back side which I still need to finish) for forthcoming record “Jade Colored Moon” by band Maria the Mexican. It was a really fun design to work on and I can’t wait to show you. In terms of ‘commercial design’, if you will, it’s one of my favorites, if not my most, that I’ve done. <\/p>\n

I’ve been on a paper cutting roll lately — I’ve got some good creative energy going, and it’s exciting (all the while, I’m totally behind on the business side of things.. limitations of a one-man band..). Which may explain why I’ve been up since 1:30am and never went back to sleep. I woke up excited to work on more paper cuttings.. after having a dream about going into to the mountains alone on a vision quest and chickening out and going to a movie theater instead.. what does it all mean???
