Ursa Major – Cut Paper Art

ursa major

More bear! And an ode to the stars. 16 x 20 inch paper cutting.

Hello from day 3 of the Cherry Creek Arts Fest. No rain yet but I’ve got lots of plastic sheets wrapped around my tent just in case. 60% chance of thunderstorms– hoping it holds out until I get to my next hotel later tonight… I set up a ‘hotspot’ on my iPhone and now I can use the internet on my computer and update my website through my phone connection. Technology is so groovy sometimes.. I’m usually a couple steps behind (and ok with that — I’m actually trying to be a little more primitive in most matters).

Cherry Creek Art Fest Day 2 = RAIN (but awesome still)

I think it’s safe to say that this year’s Cherry Creek Arts Festival can go down as my most successful art fair so far in terms of sales, and there’s still one day to go. However, rain kept the folks away Friday afternoon and shut us down early Saturday. It was pretty crazy. I had customers in my booth when the rain and wind came fairly suddenly and we were all holding onto the tent trying to keep it in place. I’m glad that a large region of Colorado got some much needed rain – hopefully it put a major damper on the wildfires, but the drainage systems where I was were not quite prepared for the downpour that came and rising water made it’s way through my tent. It was over my ankles at one point.. sooo, I packed up all my work and put it in my car where it was much safer. More rain forecasted for tomorrow…

Today I got all set up for the Cherry Creek Arts Festival which takes place this Friday from 10am – 8pm, Saturday from 10am – 8pm, and Sunday from 10am – 6pm. There’s lots of rain forecasted, which is a great thing for the state of Colorado.. And I try not to worry about these things anymore. I just go with the flow. You know? Lots of new work hanging that I haven’t shown you here yet — not even sure how I managed to fill all my panels, but I did. So, busy days ahead. Til next time..

Mushrooms I, II, III – Cut Paper Art

Each paper cutting measures 5 x 7 inches. I like mushrooms.. I always thought it would be cool to sit underneath one.

I made my way to Boulder, CO, today.. and I can barely keep my eyes open. I hit up the Pearl Street Mall for some dinner and walking around (and to check out my location for the Boulder show in a few weeks). I also wanted to check in with a gallery I’ve got some stuff in here.. forgetting today is a holiday. I’ll be heading to Denver tomorrow to set up for the Cherry Creek Arts Fest. As I drove around Denver and into Boulder, the haze was so thick that I never even saw the mountains until I was actually IN Boulder… Crazy… maybe the smoke from the fires, I’d assume. More soon.
