I had an amazingly fun weekend in Omaha with some of my favorite friends and family. Thanks to the Omaha Public Library for hosting my art. This exhibit will run through April 27.
Many thanks to all you folks who braved the cold to come out to the Lola Giant Art Show this weekend! It was a great show to end the year on. Thanks, also, to everyone who has made all my shows in 2013 so great! Now… time to get on with commissions, animations, and a new body of work for the new year. Thanks for being a part of it!
Lawrence friends: this weekend is the LOLA Giant show at VanGo Arts. It’s my last show til show season next year and it’s gonna be groovy! 25 local vendors, swag bags to the first 50 folks in line both Saturday and Sunday. I’ll be dropping off some stickers and coupons today for those bags. I’ll also be contributing some goodies to the raffle. Come out of the cold and be warm with us. See you there! Check the Facebook Event page for details!

The orders keep rolling in and I’ve been rolling ’em out.. Thanks to all you folks who have been shopping in my Etsy store!
Thanks to Mark Murtha for photographing Crafts & Drafts last weekend. You can check out his photos of the event online HERE! (There’s even one of my cheesy mug bundled up in my coat..).
I rarely follow politics (because they frustrate me), but a big congratulations to New York City — I’m excited about their new mayor. I lived there when it was the end of Giuliani’s run, and for many years during the Bloomberg period. It was amazing how I could feel the difference between the two just by the way the city was operating. I think de Blasio will be a breath of fresh air and a step in the right direction for having an internal structure that is accessible and relatable to the majority of the citizens.. Now if the country as a whole could get on the right track..
I’m devoting the rest of my week to commissioned work. I’ve got about 10 things on my plate here, and I’ve been behind on them all. Stepping up now… til next time.
I’m on a total posting binge (aka procrastination) and Sandy Denny Strawbs kick.
Also a note to say THANKS to all you folks who came out to Love Garden Sounds (my favorite record store) last Friday for Final Fridays. Super duper thanks to Aaron at LGS for the arduous task of hanging my artwork from basically the ceiling. It was a great time, Maria the Mexican put on a great performance, and of course, I bought more records including some old gospel-bluegrassy stuff and Jackson C. Frank (original writer of Blues Run The Game, and coincidently Sandy Denny’s boyfriend at some point in history). Goooooood stuff.
Coming up next Saturday: Crafts and Drafts at the Uptown Theater shopping area in Westport, Kansas City. 25+ beers on tap, 75 artists and crafters.. Should be a great time.
Many thanks to the kind folks of Omaha for making Artsarben a great show last weekend! I failed to pull out my camera during the festival, but I did manage to get a shot of my favorite water tower on my way home. Mmmm coffeeee. THANKS!! See you next year!
