Friday Night Sunlight

I’ve got a thing for tiny birds.. Nothing quite as sweet as a baby bird hopping around. Each of these baby bird paper cuttings measure approximately 1.5 x 2 inches. Sold.

Here’s another teacup birdie. I have a burgeoning collection of teacups & coffee cups from my local thrift store.. I’m slightly obsessed.
2.5 x 4 inches. Sold.

Well, maybe not Bette Davis.. Of all the animals I’ve seen up close and personal, I think cows have the sweetest, most endearing eyes. Whenever I think of Bette Davis, I remember her role in “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”.. Yikes. I wrote a poem many years ago about a cow named Hilda that had tension issues. Perhaps I was actually writing about Bette’s character in that movie.. I digress. This little fella crawled out through the barbed wire and begged for a portrait shot… It’s all in the eyes.

I was approached by Ami of SpecialTea Brew to do a logo for this up-and-coming loose leaf tea & accessories company based out of the greater Redmond/ Seattle area. Ami liked one of my original papercuttings (Tea Time – see it here) and we worked together to modify it to fit into the overall concept of the company. Because SpecialTea Brew is going to be donating a portion of proceeds to breast cancer research, a pink ribbon was incorporated to signify such.

From a dusty country road in Kansas (where I would spend all my time if I could get away with it).

3 x 4.5 inch paper cutting. Sold.

“…I take to the open road…” (W. Whitman)
I’m planning a couple out-of-state art fairs this summer- looking forward to long highways and new scenery and lots of picture taking.

8 x 10 inch paper cutting (11 x 14 inch framed). I love birds and I love cats, and I see no reason why they can’t exist together harmoniously.
