First spring-like rain in Kansas today after a long, long winter. I love winter, but when there’s still snow on the ground in March, I start to feel like Kerouac in “Big Sur”, only with a lot less ocean and a little more mud, and possibly equal amounts of donkey.. depending on where I’m hanging out. The early markings of spring are like a breath of fresh air, so to say.

8 x 10 inch paper cutting. Currently hanging at The Bulldog at 1715 Main Street in Kansas City.

3 x 4 inch paper cutting.
3 x 4.5 inch paper cutting matted & framed in a 5 x 7 inch frame. Sold.

Just picked myself up a couple oldies Polaroid Land Cameras. One is a model J66.. the other is the Square Shooter 2. If I were a gun slingin’ cowgirl, I think I’d call myself Square Shooter.

I digress. The best thrift store in the world is right here in my hometown: bought 15 wine glasses, 2 old-timey butter knives and 2 chopping knives for five buckaroos. The cameras came free – lady says she never knows if they work or not so she just gives them away. The model J66 is in almost perfect condition – came in the original leather case with handwritten notes from its original owner. Apparently it had been thrown in the trash at the thrift store but somebody dug it out and left it for me. Now I just have to figure out where to find film and how to use it…
