While I was in Nashville last week, I was gifted this lovely bar of Olive & Sinclair *Salt & Pepper* Southern Artisan Chocolate that is also made in Nashville. The packaging was so nice that I didn’t want to open it up to eat the chocolate. But I couldn’t really help myself — I ate the whole thing. Mmmm. And now the wrapper is hanging on my wall in front of my desk. And I’ve got their website open to order more. Chocolate lovers — go here: www.oliveandsinclair.com.
My office mate and I wish you a safe, enjoyable holiday! I think this marks the unofficial beginning of Fall, no? My favorite season, besides the other three.
It’s obvious the flooding in Pakistan isn’t getting the media coverage it deserves here in the States. I don’t know about elsewhere… We’re all human – that should be enough to want to help. You can make a donation here — even small donations help:

These cut out letters are remnants from something (very cool) that I have been working on all week which I’ll be able to tell you about in another week or so.
I also wanted to thank you all for visiting here — I’ve been terrible about updating over the last couple weeks while I’ve been busy doing outside illustration work, and that is going to change very soon. New paper cuttings, new news, more updates to come very soon!
I headed outside earlier hoping to catch a meteor on camera, but no did do. Or, I did not. I saw quite a few, but never managed to time one right. Plus, there were lots of hazy clouds passing through. Here’s a couple pictures anyway:
Check out my photo of a shooting star that I captured during last year’s Perseid meteor shower: https://ruralpearl.com/blog/?p=858.
I’m actually in Long Island now, but I spent the last couple days in Manhattan and Brooklyn taking care of some lingering business and eating at some of my favorite places. Also finally checked out the Museum of Natural History. I lived in NYC for almost 10 years and never really found the time to make my way around the museum circuit.
